Building Your Guest List
Your guest list is the foundation of your wedding planning. Here's how to add, organize, and manage all your guests efficiently.
Adding Guests Individually
- Go to Dashboard > Guests
- Click + Add Guest
- Fill in the guest details:
- First and last name
- Email address (required for RSVP invitations)
- Phone number (optional, for SMS reminders)
- Mailing address (for physical invitations)
Guest Groups (Households)
For families or couples, create guest groups:
- Add the primary guest first
- Click Add to Group or Create Group
- Add additional household members
- The group shares one invitation and RSVP
Example: "The Smith Family" group containing John Smith, Jane Smith, and Kids (2)
Bulk Import from CSV
Have a spreadsheet? Import all guests at once:
- Go to Guests > Import
- Download our CSV template
- Fill in your guest data following the column headers
- Upload your completed CSV file
- Review the import preview
- Click Import Guests
Required columns: First Name, Last Name, Email
Optional columns: Phone, Address, City, State, Zip, Group Name, Meal Preference, Notes
Guest Categories
Organize guests into categories for easier management:
A-List (Must Invite)
- Close family members
- Best friends
- Wedding party members
B-List (If Space Allows)
- Extended family
- Casual friends
- Work colleagues
To assign categories:
- Select one or more guests
- Click Set Category
- Choose A-List or B-List
- Filter your list by category anytime
Managing Plus-Ones
For guests bringing a date:
- Open the guest's profile
- Toggle Plus-One Allowed
- Optionally add their plus-one's name if known
- The guest can add their plus-one's name when they RSVP
Adding Notes
Keep track of important details:
- Dietary restrictions or allergies
- Seating preferences ("Keep away from Uncle Bob")
- Relationship notes ("Groom's college roommate")
- Gift notes for thank-you cards
Guest Status Overview
Track where each guest stands:
- Invited — RSVP invitation sent
- Attending — Confirmed yes
- Declined — Confirmed no
- Pending — No response yet
- Not Yet Invited — Still on your list
Search and Filter
Find guests quickly:
- Search by name or email
- Filter by RSVP status
- Filter by category (A-List/B-List)
- Filter by group/household
- Sort alphabetically or by status
Export Your Guest List
Need your list elsewhere?
- Go to Guests > Export
- Choose format (CSV or Excel)
- Select which fields to include
- Download your complete list
Common uses: Sharing with caterers, creating place cards, sending physical invitations, managing thank-you notes.
Pro Tip: Start with close family and wedding party, then expand outward. It's easier to add guests than to uninvite them!
