Making Your Website Match Your Wedding Colors
Every couple has a color palette. Here's how to bring yours to your wedding website.
Accessing Color Settings
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Design
- Click Colors
- See all customizable color options
- Changes preview in real-time
Color Options Explained
Primary Color
Your main brand color, used for:
- Headers and important text
- Main buttons
- Links and accents
- Section backgrounds
Secondary Color
Supporting color for:
- Subtle backgrounds
- Secondary buttons
- Borders and dividers
- Complementary accents
Background Color
The overall page background:
- Usually white or very light
- Sets the overall tone
- Affects readability of text
Text Color
Main body text:
- Usually dark gray or black
- Must contrast with background
- Affects readability significantly
How to Set Colors
Using the color picker:
- Click on any color swatch
- Use the picker to select visually
- Or enter a HEX code directly
- Preview updates as you choose
Using HEX codes:
If you have exact colors from your invitations:
- Enter codes like #B94448 (blush)
- Include the # symbol
- Use 6-character codes
Finding Your Wedding Colors
From invitations:
- Ask your stationer for color codes
- Use a color picker tool on digital files
- Apps like ColorSnap can match physical items
From Pinterest/inspiration:
- Save images with your color palette
- Use color extraction tools online
- Note HEX codes from design sites
From your venue/flowers:
- Photograph items in natural light
- Use phone apps to identify colors
- Adjust for screen vs. print differences
Color Harmony Tips
Complementary colors:
- Opposite on the color wheel
- High contrast and vibrant

Analogous colors:
- Adjacent on the color wheel

Monochromatic:

Ensuring Readability
Contrast requirements:
- Text must be readable against backgrounds
- We'll warn you if contrast is too low
- Aim for dark text on light backgrounds (or vice versa)
Testing:
- Check colors on your phone
- View in different lighting
- Ask others if it's easy to read
- Test with actual content, not placeholders

Resetting Colors
To go back to defaults:
- Go to Settings > Design > Colors
- Click Reset to Template Defaults
- Confirm the reset
- Original template colors are restored
Your content isn't affected — only colors reset.
Saving Color Presets
Save your favorite combinations:
- Set up colors you like
- Click Save as Preset
- Name your preset
- Access saved presets anytime
This is helpful if you're experimenting with different looks.
Pro Tip: Photograph your physical wedding items (invitations, fabric swatches, flowers) in natural daylight for the most accurate color matching!
