Customizing Your Website Layout

Every template offers different section layouts. Here's how to make your site uniquely yours.

Understanding Layout Styles

Each template has preset styles for three main sections:

Hero Section

• Card: Content in a centered card over image
• Split: Image on one side, text on other
• Fullscreen: Full-bleed image with overlay text

Schedule Section

• Timeline: Vertical timeline of events
• Cards: Individual event cards
• Grid: Events in a grid layout

Gallery Section

• Carousel: Swipeable image slider
• Grid: Traditional photo grid
• Masonry: Pinterest-style staggered grid

Viewing Your Current Layout

1. Go to Dashboard > Settings > Design
2. Click Layout
3. See your current template's layout styles
4. Preview how different styles look

Sections You Can Toggle

Show or hide sections based on your needs:

Always Available:

• Hero/Welcome
• Wedding Details
• RSVP

Optional Sections:

• Our Story
• Wedding Party
• Gallery
• Schedule/Timeline
• Accommodations
• Registry
• Travel Information
• FAQs

Enabling/Disabling Sections

1. Go to Dashboard > Settings > Sections
2. Toggle sections on or off
3. Reorder by dragging
4. Changes reflect immediately

When to hide sections:

• Information not ready yet
• Not applicable to your wedding
• Keeping site simple

Section Order

Customize the flow of your site:

1. Go to Settings > Sections
2. Drag sections to reorder
3. Preview the new arrangement
4. Save changes

Recommended order:

1. Hero (always first)
2. Our Story
3. Wedding Details
4. Schedule
5. Wedding Party
6. Gallery
7. Accommodations
8. Registry
9. RSVP (often last)

Navigation Menu

Your navigation updates automatically:

• Shows enabled sections
• Links scroll to each section
• Mobile shows hamburger menu
• Order matches your section order

Menu customization:

• Rename section labels
• Hide sections from menu (but keep on page)
• Add external links

Mobile Layout

Your site automatically adapts:

• Single column on phones
• Touch-friendly navigation
• Optimized image sizes
• Readable text sizes

Testing mobile:

1. Preview your site
2. Click mobile icon in preview
3. Or open on your actual phone
4. Check all sections scroll and display correctly

Section-Specific Settings

Hero section:

• Background image
• Text alignment
• Countdown timer toggle
• Button text and link

Schedule section:

• Add/edit events
• Date and time format
• Show/hide locations
• Add event descriptions

Gallery section:

• Upload photos
• Create albums
• Set display order
• Enable/disable lightbox

RSVP section:

• Customize questions
• Set deadline
• Enable meal selection
• Add custom fields

Template-Specific Options

Some layouts are template-specific:

• Elegant Gold: Timeline schedule
• Modern Minimalist: Grid gallery
• Rustic Charm: Split hero

Switching templates changes available layouts. Your content transfers, but visual arrangement may differ.

Best Practices

Keep it scannable:

• Don't overwhelm with sections
• Use clear section headers
• Break up long content
• Include visual elements

Prioritize information:

• Put essential info first
• Date/venue/RSVP are crucial
• Nice-to-haves can go later
• Don't make guests hunt for details

Test with fresh eyes:

• Have someone unfamiliar view your site
• Can they find RSVP easily?
• Is everything clear?
• Note any confusion
